Russound announces major upgrades to two of our most popular speaker
seectors offering quality audio performance, overload protection
and long-term reliability. The SS-6.2 and SS-4.2, which handle up
to six and four pairs of loudspeakers respectively, provide
impedance matching with automatic overload protection and are
compatible for use with high power amplifiers.
The SS-6.2 and SS-4.2 are designed to be used in two operating
configurations: Impedance Matching or Bypass. Impedance matching
mode provides automatic overload protection for use even with high
power amplifiers. This mode allows multiple pairs of speakers to be
safely connected to an amplifier using the automatic impedance
matching circuitry of the speaker selector. Bypass mode is used for
direct speaker switching with remote impedance matching volume
controls. This allows local control in each room as well as higher
efficiency; however, in this mode, the impedance matching and
overload protection is not engaged.
Designed for use with 8-ohm loudspeakers, both selectors also
provide safe connection to bridged amplifiers or any application
where there is a floating ground.
SS-6.2 and SS-4.2 have spring-loaded speaker terminals for quick
connection and can accommodate speaker wire up to 12 gauge.
