Smart-UPS protects your data by supplying network-grade battery
backup when power fails. With PowerChute plus software the
uninterruptible power supply (UPS) will safely store data and shut
down your network operating system before the battery is fully
discharged, whether you re there or not.
SmartSlot internal accessory slot allows you to install optional
accessories to enhance the performance of your UPS. APC Smart-UPS
is the perfect UPS for fileservers, minicomputers, UNIX CPU s,
internet hubs, telecommunications systems and other mission-
critical applications.

* Innovative line-interactive design uses the DC to AC power inverter "in
reverse", like a battery charger, during normal operation providing
greater performance and efficiency.
* Smart-UPS sine-wave output provides assurance of compatibility with all
loads.
* Full time EMI/RFI filters prevent line noise from causing data errors.
Smart-UPS meets Novell and Microsoft's approval for network protection,
without the need for additional external conditioners.
* Site wiring fault indicator alerts you to potential problems, such as
missing ground and reversed polarity, two common miswirings which
usually require an electrician's visit to diagnose.
* Lightning and surge protection shields hardware.
* Smart-UPS continuously monitors its health and proactively informs you
of the results via Web, SNMP, E-mail or paging.
* Auto self-test at power-on and every 2 weeks, at the push of a button,
or pre-determined times using software. This ensures that you will be
alerted to degraded batteries before they wear out.
* In the event of an extended power outage, the Smart-UPS will interface
with PowerChute Plus via the serial port to perform automatic safe shut-
down of the attached system.
* SmartBoost automatically corrects brownout conditions by stepping up low
voltage to safe output levels.
* SmartTrim automatically corrects overvoltage conditions by stepping down
high voltage to safe output levels.
