FEATURES- PRO/100 S Server Adapter

management features. The PRO/100 S Server Adapter features the new
Intel Fast Ethernet controller with integrated encryption co-
processor, and Intel SingleDriver technology for compatibility
across Intel PRO/100 Network Adapters.
In addition to its primary function - providing 10/100 connectivity
between the server and other network devices - the PRO/100 S Server
Adapter also offloads 3DES encryption from the CPU, freeing
processing power for other network tasks.
The PRO/100 S Server Adapter contains the Intel 82550EY Fast
Ethernet controller integrated LAN silicon and encryption offload
co-processor whose smaller chipset design occupies one-quarter of
the space and consumes one-quarter of the power of the earlier,
separate, controller and co-processor.
This adapter is based on Intel SingleDriver technology for ease of
installation. Optimized for Windows 2000, it includes Intel
Packet Protect software that extends IPSec functionality to Windows
NT* 4.0 systems
